Since year 2000, FOTOCAT is an in-progress project owned and managed by Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos, with the purpose to create a catalog of world-wide UFO photo events.
Climate Interactive is building a community that creates, shares, and uses credible models, accessible simulations, and related media in order to improve the way leaders and citizens around the world think about the climate. Our purpose is to get these sims and insights into the world as accessible products so they can be tweaked, enhanced, translated, distributed and used to power change around the world.
We’re building sims that are easy to use by climate analysts, communicators, and leaders of many types, and that provide immediate feedback, so users can see the results of different scenarios on atmospheric carbon levels and temperature.
Our mission is to educate the public on the positive effects of additional atmospheric CO2 and help prevent the inadvertent negative impact to human, plant and animal life if we reduce CO2.

Exploring issues and controversies in the relationship between science and medicine
This is Steven Salzberg's blog on genomics, evolution, pseudoscience (GenoEvoPseudo), and other topics, including skepticism, open-access publishing, and free software. Here's where I can say what I really think about abuses and distortions of science, especially pseudoscience.
Drinking Skeptically is an informal social event designed to promote fellowship and networking among skeptics, critical-thinkers, and like-minded individuals. Drinking Skeptically provides an opportunity for skeptics to talk, share ideas (and yes, drink) in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. We discuss the issues of the day and whatever else is on our minds. But most of all, we have fun while promoting skepticism, science, and rationality. Don't drink? Don't let that stop you from joining us! Some of the world's most famous skeptics are teetotallers, and we are happy to have you!
Proof that true stories are weirder than made-up stories.
This is the home page for News of the Weird, the weekly syndicated column (founded 1988) that is the most widely-read U.S. newspaper feature on current bizarreness--indeed, the gold standard of weird-news reporting, appearing in about 250 newspapers in the U.S. and Canada.
"Comment is free, but facts are sacred." -- C.P. Scott, editor Manchester Guardian, 1921. // The Goal of Fact Checker is to shed as much light as possible on controversial claims and counter-claims involving important national issues and the records of the various presidential candidates.
The Defend Science Statement aims to rally broad opposition and resistance to the mounting attacks on science and scientific thinking which are unfolding in the United States. Our basic aim now is to run the Defend Science Statement, signed by scientists, as an ad in major newspapers, reaching millions. (At this point the Statement is signed by over 2600 scientists and members of the scientific community.) sign the statement.
[sic] Radiation is the crucial element of energy transference between the earth and the cosmos. Rays form a regular energy field between the earth and the cosmos, which are concentrated over displacements such as underground water sources, faults and cavities (caves), and also over mineral deposits. This phenomenon occurs in a similar way to the concentration of the sun's rays in a magnifying glass.
We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding. The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.
PolitiFact is a project of the St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly to help you find the truth in the presidential campaign. Every day, reporters and researchers from the Times and CQ will analyze the candidates' speeches, TV ads and interviews and determine whether the claims are accurate
I found myself (re-)discovering just how poor the science was in "Creation Science" and realized that many of the errors and misinformation were accessible to students at a more introductory level, especially when they could be linked to science behind specific technologies. ...my interest in the idea of making debunking of "Creation Science" accessible to more students and to the general public became more of a mission and resulted in the establishment of this web site.
This site is the blogging component for my main site Dealing with Creationism in Astronomy". It will provide a more interactive component for discussion of the main site content. I will also use this blog to comment on work in progress for the main site, news events, and other pseudoscience-related issues.
# The leading names in paranormal research will lecture
# A trade show featuring booths filled with vendors providing products and services to this field of study
# Workshops will offer introductions to the field for those who wish to start their own paranormal investigative organizations
# Historic ghost tours of Harpers Ferry -- one of the country's most haunted locations
# A symposium for the paranormal community to brainstorm standard and protocols
Click GHOST STUDIES! Here we will be looking at research into the existence of ESP, Psychokinesis and the Survival of Bodily Death. These are, essentially, the three foundations of parapsychology. Also, you will be able to find haunted places in your area (hopefully as more and more haunted places are added), submit articles and read ones by others. Also, you can contribute too and use the ever growing Ghost Hunters Encyclopedia.
SkeptiCamp is an international network of participant generated skeptic conferences.
It's is a new kind of BarCamp, a conference whose content is provided by attendees. Where BarCamp focuses on technology, SkeptiCamp instead focuses on science, critical thinking, pseudoscience, paranormal claims, alternative medicine and the dozens of topics of interest to skeptics.
This site is dedicated to developing advanced tools and techniques for use by skeptics in fighting the battle against misinformation on the world wide web. It originated with a presentation given at The Amazing Meeting 6 on June 22, 2008. We discuss techniques that you can use on your own web site, publish tools that you can use here, and otherwise try to advance the state of the art of skepticism on the web.
Spoon science is a resource for sharing amusing, exciting or unusual science videos, particularly those which utilize everyday objects. The site is still in development, but we are proud to launch with The Amazing Spoon-bending Video, the inspiration for this project.
