Transit workers: In the basement. Wildcat strikes, rudeness, sleeping on the job. Should their pay be frozen? Yep, and rolled back. Garbage collectors, LCBO workers, school caretakers, secretaries, et al: Freeze their pay? Sure. Their jobs aren’t exactly rocket science. With the kind of job security, pension and perks they have, the rest of us struggling to keep our heads above water can only gaze in wonder as they thrash about, like dinosaurs in the tar pit, trying to justify pay hikes. Teachers: Sure, it’s an often difficult job and they are well educated. Still, theirs is a cushy 3P existence — pay, perks, pension. The End of Bloglines is Nigh - Will Close October 1 SAVE
RSS is not dead, but with Bloglines, one of the most venerable web-based RSS readers is about to close shop next month. According to a report on TechCrunch, Bloglines' parent company IAC will make an official announcement later today and shut the service down on October 1. In the early days of RSS, Bloglines was the go-to feed reader for early adopters. Over the last few years, however, the company struggled to innovate and hold on to its users.
